Ani Mayo is a graduating senior at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She will be receiving a degree in Communications with emphasis on Advertising and a minor in Dance Arts in June of 2017. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas in May 2013 with a GPA of 3.74.
She continues her strong determination for academic excellence in college with organizations such as the Howard University Fashion week were she served as the Operations Executive for 2 years, School of Communication Student Council where she served as the Logistics Director for the Fall 2016 semester, and Ad Sales Assistant for The Hilltop campus newspaper where she currently is employed. She was awarded the Links Community Service Scholarship and the Delta Sigma Theta North Suburban Alumnae Chapter Book Scholarship because of her work ethic, leaderships skills, and love for community service.
Ani has expanded her interest for international affairs and voyaged to Luxor, Egypt during the summer of 2016 where she participated in many community service projects and Kemetic history programs. Ani’s vast array of skills acquired from internships within the communications industry include: creative strategy, ad sales, media relations, media management, social media, blogging, marketing, and analytics have prepared her to take on anything in which she may aspire to endeavor.
